Another Spring day

There was a skiff of fresh snow on the trails this morning. The warm afternoons have been doing their thing, still some very thin spots on the trails.  Got the groomer out and hit the trails that have been holding snow the best. A classic line was also put in on most trails. Campground, Meadow, Upper UW (no classic tracks), Phil's, Tie City, Moose and Van's all got groomed out today. Constantly changing conditions out there. -Dan

More Spring snow!

A couple more inches of fresh snow fell yesterday. It was never very cold up here so the snow is pretty wet.  Still just rolling again today to get that fresh snow to stick the trails. Campground, Meadow, Upper UW, Phil's, Tie City, Moose, and Van's all rolled today. Get out and enjoy the last of the snow! -Dan

Wet Spring snow overnight

New snow up at Happy Jack last night. About two inches of very wet warm snow fell overnight last night. It was enough to cover up all the bare spots but was already melting fast as we left today. The snow is very thin in spots! Just rolling this morning, trying to get what fell to stick. Campground, Meadow, Upper UW, Phil's, Tie City, Moose and Van's all got rolled out. Hoping for more snow tonight! -Dan

Lots of melting up at Happy Jack

Tons of sun and warm temperatures did not help the skiing. Lots of good snow still out there but lots of bare spots too. Campground, Meadow, Upper UW and Phil's through Van's all got groomed today. There is a rumor of more snow coming this weekend, but spring conditions are everywhere on the trails. Enjoy the sun! -Dan

Spring at Happy Jack

Tons of sun and warm temperatures ot the ski trails again today. Upper UW, Phil's, Tie City, Moose and Van's all groomed pretty good today. I would avoid the Campground hill today as it was looking very thin.  The snow bridges were shoveled today but there was a lot of melting on them yesterday.  Enjoy the sunny days!  -Dan

Wednesday

The ski trails held up fairly well.  It was a little firm this morning, but we were able to groom out most of the ski trails.  Campground, Meadow, Upper UW, Phil's thru Van's, Ridge, Blackjack and Alder.  We will no longer groom Haunted Forest, Sprint or Chyt's unless we get more snow.  There are some thin and icy spots around the trail system so be careful.  Constantly changing spring conditions exist. Good skiing, Randy

Tuesday

The trails were frozen hard until mid-morning.  Groomed the trails that are still holding snow(Campground, Meadow, Upper UW, Phil's thru Van's, Ridge, Alder, Blackjack and Chyt's).  Once the base warmed up some, the trails groomed out pretty well.  Some of the trails have narrowing and are beginning to have some bare spots.  Constantly changing spring conditions are present. Be safe and have fun, Randy

Monday

The ski trails groomed out surprisingly great today.  Still limited in the trails that receive grooming.  Get out and enjoy the ski trails while we still have snow! Good skiing, Randy

Sunday

2" to 3" of new snow overnite.  Campground, Meadow, Upper UW, Phil's thru Van's, Ridge, Blackjack, Alder and Chyt's were all groomed this morning.  Classic tracks set on Campground, Meadow, Upper UW, and Phil's thru Van's.  The tracks went in very well.  Conditions may be a little soft.   Good skiing, Randy

Saturday

The trails groomed out surprisingly well this morning.  Classic tracks are in marginal to good condition.  Hopefully, we get some snow out of this latest storm.  A little effort on the snow dance wouldn't hurt... Good skiing, Randy

Friday

We groomed all ski trails except the Summit complex, Lower UW, Rollercoaster and Sprint.  Classic tracks are in fair to good condition as snow had blown into areas.  There was a little narrowing of trails from yesterday.   Have fun and be safe, Randy

Thursday

All ski trails, except the Summit complex, Lower UW, Rollercoaster, were groomed this morning.  Classic tracks set on all groomed trails.  Tracks went in good in most places, but they had to be pulled in some areas.  Also, tracks set on the opposite side of normal on Phil's.  We did what we could with what we had.   Good skiing, Randy

Wednesday

3" to 6" of new snow.  Impossible to measure with any accuracy due to last nite's breeze.  There were multiple drifts as well as some places that didn't hold any new snow.  All ski trails rolled.  Likely that only the trails we've been grooming will be groomed on Thursday.  Conditions will be soft, in most areas, today. Good skiing, Randy

Tuesday

Yesterday's weather was again hard on our ski trails.  We did shovel snow in a few spots to keep trails open in hopes of snow from the coming storms.  Conditions were very firm to start and softened with the weather and the groomers.  Campground, Meadow, Upper UW, Phil's thru Van's, Ridge, Alder and Chyt's were all successfully groomed today. Be safe and have fun, Randy

Monday

We did a little shoveling to keep the trails open that we've been grooming.  The ski trails groomed out quite well this morning.  Only a couple of spots had begun to turn to slush at the end of grooming. Constantly changing spring conditions exist.   Be safe and have fun, Randy

Sunday

A dusting of new snow since Saturday.  Saturday, we had some new snow, but it was difficult to measure due to the stiff breeze and the drifting it caused.  This morning, we had minimal drifting.  We groomed Campground, Meadow, Upper UW, Phil's thru Van's, Ridge, Blackjack and Alder.  The trails groomed out nicely today but, with warmer weather scheduled for the next two days,  we'll see how the base holds up. Good skiing,Randy

Friday

No new snow overnite but, it began snowing when we arrived and continued until late morning.  About 2" of new snow fell as we were grooming.  Campground, Meadow, Chyt's, Upper UW, Phil's thru Van's, Ridge, Blackjack and Alder groomed this morning.  The base is extremely thin in areas, so the new snow was more than welcome. Good skiing, Randy

Thursday

The trails groomed out pretty good this morning.  There are some new icy spots but, coverage is still good in the areas groomed.  Constantly changing spring conditions are present.   We have a storm forecast for tonight/tomorrow.  Do the dance to help our snowpack. Good skiing, Randy

Wednesday

Constantly changing spring conditions exist.  The trails we are still grooming have good coverage and corduroy.  There are some open areas on the sides but, very skiable.  Lots of sunshine and maybe a storm on Friday. Have fun and be safe, Randy

Tuesday

Once again, constantly changing spring conditions.  Most ski trails groomed.  The Summit complex, Lower UW, and Rollercoaster will not receive any further grooming until we get more snow.  The rest of the trail system has great coverage and groomed out quite well today.  Classic tracks are still in and in fair to good shape. Be safe and good skiing, Randy

Monday

Constantly changing spring conditions exist.  The warm weather and sunny conditions are affecting our base.  The surface was firm to icey in areas this morning.  Lower UW will not be groomed any further until more snow has arrived.  The Summit complex and Rollercoaster have several open areas but were still skiable as of this morning.  Most of the rest of the trails have some thin/bare spots along the edges.  All ski trails groomed this morning with the exception of Lower UW. Be safe and have fun, Randy

Sunday

All ski trails groomed.  There is a little narrowing of the trails, along with some open spots.  The only trail that lost snow completely across is Lower UW.  Constantly changing spring conditions exist.  Classic tracks are good to great condition.   Good skiing, Randy

Saturday

All ski trails groomed.  Classic tracks set on all trails except Steller's Jay, Lower UW, and Rollercoaster.  The trails groomed out nicely but will be a little soft.   Lots of sunshine today and the next few.   Good skiing, Randy

Friday

About 2" of new snow since yesterday.  Also, it snowed until around 9:30 this morning,  All ski trails groomed.  Conditions will be soft.  Coverage keeps improving and as long as temperatures don't rise and the sun stays mostly hidden, the base has a chance. Good skiing, Randy

Thursday

A little less than 3" of new snow last nite.  All ski trails rolled.  As it warmed up this morning, conditions became soft. Good skiing, Randy

Wednesday

A light dusting of snow since yesterday.  The trails were set up pretty firm this morning.  All ski trails groomed.  Coverage remains good to great on most trails except for Lower UW which has open area entirely across the trail. The forecasters say snow tonight so fingers crossed. Good skiing, Randy

Tuesday

A dusting of new snow.  It was lightly snowing most of the time we were grooming.  The trails, that had snow, groomed out quite nicely.  The base is thin with a few open areas.  We just need more snow so don't forget to do the dance! Good skiing, Randy

Monday

Yesterday's heat wave was evident on the trails this morning.  We shoveled snow in multiple places in anticipation of the weather change.  Most of the trails are in good condition.  The Summit complex, Lower UW and Rollercoaster have multiple locations that have melted out and have thin base areas.  Do the dance for colder weather and measurable snow! Good skiing, Randy

Sunday 3/02

This last week of hot weather has done our base no favors but, we still have skiable snow.  All trails were groomed this morning.  Most trails have some narrowing and a few have open patches.  Lower UW has one place that is open completely across the trail.  Constantly changing spring conditions exist. The good news for skiers is the weather pattern will be changing starting next week. Be safe and have fun, Randy
