01/30 Monday
Around 3” to 4” of new snow since yesterday. All ski trails leveled and then groomed today. Classic tracks set Campground, Meadow, Upper UW, Phil’s thru Summit, Ridge, Blackjack and Alder. Conditions may be a little soft with the new snow but, due to the lower temperatures, the base was firming up.
Parking lot update: The entrance was plowed and sanded midmorning today. Half of the parking lot was plowed and sanded as well.
Good skiing, Randy
Apparently, the setting of classic tracks (i.e., grooming for classic skiing) does not qualify as grooming. "Grooming" at Tie City means just the skate lane. Why is that?
ReplyDeleteSetting the classic tracks is distinct task, much like rolling the trails after snowfall. Rolling, grooming, and setting classic tracks have always been specifically identified in the grooming reports. You may not like it, but it is consistent.
ReplyDeleteGrooming is all the work needed to pack, level and maintain a groomed trail…this isn’t a private nordic center where you’re gonna get track laid consistently. As a non-profit organization, we are so lucky to have this amazing gem of a maintained/groomed trail system
ReplyDeleteAmen. These guys/gals work their butts off to provide an awesome experience for countless people/schoolkids/pets. And MBNA is a non-profit, local organization. Could do without the whining about classic tracks, if you desire an ‘only Nordic’ experience I suggest you try one of the private ski ranches?
ReplyDeleteThanks MBNA!
