03/30 Tuesday

All ski trails groomed.  At the beginning, the surface was icey.  We were able to break up the surface and smooth it out.  Coverage remains good on all trails except Rollercoaster.  There is one area on Rollercoaster that is melted out almost the width of the trail. Constantly changing spring conditions exist.  Be safe and have fun. Good skiing, Randy

Hello skiers! Sunday and breezy up at Happy Jack today.  Not much to say other than all the trails were groomed out and spring conditions are present. Have a great week! -Dan

Sunday, March 28

Hello! It is a nice day up at Happy Jack! Trails started a little crusty but I was able to chop it up pretty good and smooth them out! As the sun climbed into the sky I was able to get some classic tracks in! The trails were pretty hard so some tracks are better than others. Trails that got classic tracks are Upper UW, Phil's thru Summit, and Ridge. All the trails skate lane were groomed out! It is definitely getting to be spring up here so be aware of changing conditions and variable snow! Stay on those toes! -Dan

Thursday, March 25

Another beautiful day up at the ski area! All trails were groomed today and are holding up nicely. There was some slick patches where the sun hit it yesterday, but I was able to groom most of them out. The clouds today should help keep the snow a little softer today! Have fun out there! -Dan

Wednesday, March 24

Hello all! Gonna be a beautiful day up at the Jack! All trails were groomed with at least one pass and everything was looking really good! The work continues to level out the snow but it's looking the best it has in a while! Remember your sun screen, it bright out there today! -Dan

03/22 Monday

A dusting of new snow last nite.  All ski trails groomed today.  The base is much smoother on all trails.  Blackjack and Haunted Forest will be soft today but. should be set up by tomorrow.  Coverage remains great on all ski trails. Good skiing, Randy

03/21 Sunday

Blackjack and Haunted Forest were finally packed and rolled this morning.  We had cooler temps and some cloud cover this morning so we were able to work on the ski trails longer.  All remaining ski trails were groomed.  They aren't perfect but, they are much smoother and have some corduroy.  Constantly changing spring conditions exist!  Be safe and have fun. Good skiing, Randy

03/20 Saturday

All ski trails, except Lower UW, Rollercoaster and Blackjack, were further worked today.  They aren't perfect but, greatly improved.  Lower UW and Rollercoaster were packed and rolled.  They are pretty rough yet.  Blackjack will require some additional work which is planned for tomorrow. Spring conditions exist. Good skiing, Randy

03/19 Friday

All ski trails except Lower UW, Blackjack and Rollercoaster, have been packed and smoothed out.  The trails are still a little uneven which we will continue to work on.  Spring conditions... Good skiing, Randy

03/18 Thursday

Not quite sure how to measure the amount of new snow.  Based on a few unscientific measurements, and some days of settling,  my guess is a foot and a half +.  We had to use our power units to pack the ski trails and it took awhile.  Campground, Meadow, Upper UW, Phils, Turnpike, Ridge, and Alder were both packed and rolled.  At present, the surface is a little uneven for all but the most enthusiastic skaters.  We will smooth out the trails we worked on today and pack and roll more of the trail system tomorrow. Good skiing, Randy

03/13 Saturday

All ski trails groomed today.  We were able to lay some pretty good corduroy.  If a person goes skiing too late today, you'll have to take my word for it as, according to the latest forecast, the trails will be covered in snow... Good skiing and be safe, Randy

03/12 Friday

All ski trails groomed this morning. The thin areas are still around, for at least another day.  Classic tracks were holding up pretty well except for those in the Campground.  Most of those were annihilated by, what I was told, was a local group of school kids on a snowshoe outing.  Later on, people walking with young children on skiis, finished the job. According to forecasters, big storm is on the way.  Maybe all that snow dancing is paying off in one weekend... Good skiing, Randy

03/11 Thursday

All ski trails groomed today.  Classic tracks set on Campground, Meadow, Upper UW, and Phils thru Lower Vans.  The tracks went in pretty well considering the base depth.  Overall, where we had existing snow, it groomed out very well. Good skiing, Randy

03/10 Wednesday

2" to 3" of new snow overnite.  All ski trails rolled multiple times.  We had a few flurries pass thru as we were rolling so, more snow accumulated. Good job on the dance. Randy

03/09 Tuesday

Yesterday, and today, most ski trails groomed.  The higher temps have done the base no favors.  Thank goodness for cloudy skies the last couple days. Any thin/bare areas have expanded.  Most areas, in the morning are hard pan.  We continue to groom to remove the ice and to level out areas and we have been fairly successful.   The forecasters talk of colder temps and scattered snow for the next few days.  Lets hope they are right! Do the dance! Randy

03/07 Sunday

All ski trails, except Chyt and Sprint, groomed yesterday and today.  Those two, along with Summit, will not continue to be groomed until we get more snow.  Multiple thin/bare areas on most trails.  Also, we were unable to repair all the postholes from walkers but, we did erase a lot.   Constantly changing spring conditions exist so enjoy yourself but, be careful. Good skiing, Randy

03/05 Friday

All ski trails groomed today.  Conditions in the morning were hard pack to icy, softening as the day progressed.  Constantly changing spring conditions are scheduled thru next Tuesday when we are forecast to have colder temps and some snow. Good skiing, Randy

03/04 Thursday

This morning the base was firm with a few icy areas.  We were able to loosen the surface with groomers and actually lay some decent corduroy.  All ski trails were groomed.  The recent warm weather has decreased the base depth to the point we have a few small, open areas.  We may get a little shot of snow today and then warm to very warm temps thru the weekend, according to those who get paid to forecast such things.   Good skiing, Randy

03/03 Wednesday

All ski trails groomed today.  Spring conditions exist.  So far, the base is holding. Good skiing, Randy

03/02 Tuesday

All ski trails groomed yesterday and today.  On Sunday, classic tracks reset on Meadow and, for the first time this year, classic tracks set on Upper Vans and Summit.  Base depth is slowly shrinking with the warmer temps.  So far, it hasn't been warm enough during the day, and cold enough at nite, to ice up.  The base has been a little firm but, groomable, in the mornings.   Good skiing, Randy
