01/11 Saturday

No new snow overnite.  It began snowing this morning and continued until we left mid-afternoon.  It is difficult to say how much snow fell.  It kept covering our roller patterns in about an hour.  All ski trails rolled many, many times.  Surface conditions will be soft.

Good skiing, Randy

    1. For the in-duh-viduals that think grooming should be ongoing now because there's significant snow on the trails, it's been too frick'n cold to groom! However, warmer weather is coming right up this week, it's this skier's opinion that grooming may commence sometime this week. For the other in-duh-vidual that believes the descents are too slow, you better learn the nuances of waxing and get into a tighter tuck! Duh!

  2. Just as a point of fact, it has not been too cold to groom. The grooming staff has been up at Happy Jack daily, on the snow machines, for several hours a day. The point some folks are making is that there are reasonable questions as to why they have chosen not to use the grooming piece of equipment instead of the rolling piece of equipment. I have seen no indication of anyone asking them to do anything beyond what is reasonable and safe. Also, it seems entirely unnecessary to descend to name calling and insults in this online forum.

    1. I wonder what the skiers north of the artic circle would say about too cold to groom. I have know some amazing skiers from Norway and Alaska. I have skied some really firm tracks up in Fairbanks, must have been magic that set those tracks up. Also don't hold back, it is incredibly entertaining to listen to ignorant people justify there opinions by name calling. Let's make skiing great again!!

  3. It hasn't been too cold for the groomers, up until yesterday it's been too cold for the snow to compact in a satisfactory manner!! Oh my gosh, name calling, I'll be so regretful your virgin ears have been assaulted, as I pulled my punches! It's downright ignorant to think that the weather has been too cold for the groomers to be up there, they're up there beginning their workday when all the namby pamby girlie men are still asleep! I reiterate, this skier (yes, that's me) knows from experience that, until yesterday, the snow & weather (i.e. the snow temperature & the air temperature) has been too cold for the snow to compact enough for grooming to be effective. Name calling, I haven't used one word of profanity!
    Puleeeze!
