Thursday

Conditions started out firm and then softened as the day warmed up.  Lots of sunshine this again today with a little breeze.  All ski trails groomed today.  Classic tracks remain in fair to good condition with the Campground Loop having tracks reset. Good skiing, Randy

Another crazy inverted sunny day

Temps were again much warmer up on the hill than in town this morning. The air temperature is not rising too fast up here but the snow temp in places is coming up, the sun is intense up here. All the skate lanes got groomed out this morning. The classic tracks are still holding on. The parking lot is clearing up nicely, lots of pavement but also because of the melting lots of sheer ice as well. Be careful in ski boots! The Doug Frick Pole Mountain Shuffle is rapidly approaching! Head to the MBNA website ( https://www.medicinebownordic.org/pole-mountain-shuffle.html ) for more information or just head to the registration page and sign up now! ( https://www.webscorer.com/register?raceid=377260 ) Wear your sunscreen!! -Dan

Tuesday

Another temperature inversion today with lots of sunshine.  All ski trails groomed.  Classic tracks are in fair to good condition.  The season is in full swing so get out there and enjoy!  Good skiing, Randy

Monday

A little snow moved around last nite but, nothing like the past few days.  Lots of sunshine and smiles today.  All ski trails groomed.  A lot of snow shoveling was done on Alder just after the creek, in the thin area.  It will be soft for a while.  The rest of the conditions are packed powder.  The classic tracks set yesterday remain in good shape, with the exception of Campground and Meadow which were reset.  Classic tracks also set fresh today on Lower UW, Rollercoaster and Blackjack. Good skiing, Randy

Sunday

A little new snow overnite.  All ski trails groomed.  Classic tracks set on Campground, Meadow, Upper UW, Phil's thru the Summit complex, Ridge and Alder.  Conditions will be soft today.  I reset classic tracks a couple of times in Meadow just because they didn't hold up due to the conditions. The parking lot was plowed last night and is clear. Good skiing, Randy

Saturday

4" to 5" of new, dry snow this morning.  It was lightly snowing all morning.  We had to roll first, then all ski trails groomed.  Conditions will be soft. It has been brought to my attention that there were snowmobile tracks on the ski trails yesterday afternoon.  Your groomers take pride in leaving the trails in the best possible condition at the end of our work day.  The snowmobile tracks observed were from recreational riders that chose to ride on the groomed ski trails. Good skiing, Randy

Friday

Once again, considerable drifting on the lower trails overnite.  All ski trails groomed.  There may be some soft areas from knocking the drifts down.  Classic tracks on Upper UW and Phil's thru the Summit complex are in good condition.  Tracks set, or reset on Campground, Meadow, Lower UW, Rollercoaster, Blackjack and Ridge. Good skiing, Randy

Thursday

I think we got a little new snow.  A little hard to tell due to the stiff breeze last night.  We had drifting on all trails.  We took multiple grooming passes to knock down drifts.  Conditions will be a little soft in most areas.  Classic tracks reset on Campground, Meadow, Upper UW, Phil's thru Van's, Ridge and Alder.  Tracks set on the Summit complex. Lots of sunshine today so, get out and get ya some! Good skiing, Randy

Wednesday

A trace of new snow overnite.  We had a few snow squalls pass thru today while grooming.  All ski trails groomed.  Classic tracks set on Campground, Meadow, Upper UW, Phil's thru Van's, Ridge and Alder. The Forrest Service removed the snow drift that was blocking the entrance to the parking lot this morning. Good skiing, Randy

Monday breezey

All ski trails were groomed today.  There was quite a bit of drifting on the trails this morning.  The breeze kept moving snow onto the groomed trails.  It was hard to tell if we got a little new snow or it was just passing through with the breeze. The parking lot was plowed yesterday or last nite and is clear.  The problem is the drift at the cattle guard.  It is large and firm.  Nobody has tried to drive thru it today. Good skiing, Randy

Sunday

A dusting of snow with some minor drifting overnite.  Gusty morning winds turned into a steady breeze later.  Snow was moving around all day.  All ski trails groomed.  Conditions will be a little soft.  It did start lightly snowing early afternoon.  Beware of the cold and stay safe. Good skiing, Randy

Sunday

Some minor drifting this morning.  Some morning gusting turning into a breeze later, so snow was moving around all day.  All ski trails groomed.  Conditions are a little soft.  It started snowing early afternoon.

Cold Saturday

About 6" of beautiful, new snow.  All ski trails rolled multiple times.  Conditions will be a little soft.  Be safe out there. Good skiing, Randy

Laramie Middle School Race

The Laramie Middle School race scheduled for Saturday 1/18 has been cancelled. Randy

Friday

All ski trails groomed.  After yesterday's warm weather and wind, the base set up pretty firm this morning.  Also, a few thin spots began showing thru.   We did have a little drifting in areas.  Classic tracks filled in due to the breeze.  Tracks reset in Meadow.  Not much of the details matter because it began snowing around noon... Please do the snow dance but be careful to not to get confused about the cold dance.  It sounds like we'll have plenty of freezing cold without any further help. Good skiing, Randy

Thursday

All ski trails groomed.  Conditions are packed powder.  Classic tracks set around the Summit complex.  All the ski trails that usually have classic tracks now have them, but not in all areas.  The base is still too thin. Reminder:  The Laramie Middle School has canceled their invitational race, but will be holding an intersquad time trial at noon on Saturday.  This will be a classic event using Meadow, Phils, Ridge, Alder and Chyt's. Good skiing, Randy

Sunny crisp day at Happy Jack

The morning started out cold but the sun came up and it turned into a beautiful day. All the skate lanes were touched up today around the entire system. The classic lanes remain from the past couple of days. The parking lot is snow packed but passable. The weather might get cold this weekend so get out and enjoy the sun while it is here! -Dan

01/14 Tuesday

All ski trails groomed this morning.  Classic tracks set yesterday remain in good condition.  Lower UW, Rollercoaster, and Blackjack had classic tracks set this morning.  Conditions are soft to packed powder. The Laramie Middle School Ski Team is planning an intersquad time trial beginning at noon on Saturday.  There will be a lot of participants and spectators.  The course will be Meadow, Phils, Alder, Chyt's and Lower Meadow. Good skiing, Randy

01/13 Monday

All ski trails groomed.  Classic tracks set on Campground, Meadow, Upper UW, Phils thru Van's, Ridge and Alder.  The tracks went in very well and only kicked up dirt in a couple of spots. Also, the Forrest Service plowed the parking lot this morning. Good skiing, Randy

A dusting of new snow since yesterday.  A couple of quick passes with the rollers today.  Coverage remains fair with most of the trails covered and just a few dirt spots. Hopefully, more snow tonight.  Do the dance to help out mother nature! Good skiing, Randy

01/02 Thursday

Happy New Year!  We received about 2" of new snow in this latest front that passed through.  Most ski trails rolled at least once.  There are multiple thin areas but, at least we have a start on a base again.  We will work on the ski trails when there is more snow. The forecasters are predicting another productive front for this weekend.  Do the snow dance to help them out! Good skiing, Randy
