End of season

As I have been out of town recently, I wanted to thank new friends and old, for another wonderful ski season.  Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.  Spring has sprung.  Enjoy the change in weather and we’ll see you again next winter.   Randy

Happy Hour at Coal Creek tomorrow

Join us! We are hosting a happy hour at Coal Creek Tap this Wednesday the 24th from 5-7 PM. $1 from each beer will go to MBNA! This will be a great opportunity to chat, provide feedback, and celebrate the ski season.  We hope to see you there!

End of the Season

It's been an awesome season but all things must come to an end. It has been a pleasure grooming this year.  With all the sun today and no snow in the immediate forecast this is the last day of grooming for us! I hit Campground through Moose for the final time today. Have an amazing summer and we will see you all next season! -Dan

Frosty Day

No new snow overnight at the Jack, but there is hoar frost everywhere and it was spitting snow as I was cruising around the trails today. People that where out skiing said the snow was actually pretty awesome. Groomed Campground through Moose again today. Have a great weekend! -Dan

Freezing fog today

The snow actually looked pretty good today (where it is) and smoothed out better than expected. It is crazy foggy and cold. Campground, Meadow, Phil's, Tie City, Moose and Gobi's where all groomed today. Stay warm today! -Dan

A little snow and colder temps

A skiff of new snow fell over night and the temps dropped. Everything froze up pretty good and made the snow crunchy. It was still lightly snowing all morning. Please use caution on the trails as the snow covered a lot of the bare patches but they are still lurking out there. Campground, Meadow, Phil's, Tie City and Moose all got grooming passes. The work continues as long as there is groomable snow! Stay warm! -Dan

Changing Conditions

It's just spring time. The snow from yesterday did not really stick around but there are little flurries blowing around.  Campground through Moose got groomed today. It might be the last day for Upper UW, Van's and Haunted Forrest unless we get some snow tonight. Be careful out there and enjoy the last few days of skiing! -Dan

Spring Storms

Fresh snow up at Happy Jack today. About an inch of spring snow fell overnight. It is very wet heavy snow but actually did a good job of covering some of the bare spots out there. Was still blowing around and spitting snow when I got done today so hopefully we will have some more tomorrow.  Campground, Meadow, Upper UW and Phil's through Van's all got a packing pass today. The parking lot is slush covered right now and very driveable but if we get some freezing temperatures overnight it could get interesting. Have a great day! -Dan

Spring in Wyoming

Image
The trails got hit pretty hard yesterday and the sun is out again today. But there is still some good skiing to be had. One grooming pass taken from Campground through Meadow, up Upper UW and out to Van's. A few holes opened up in the snow but where there is snow it's pretty good. Weather is supposed to be changing tonight, we will see what we can do with the rest of the week. Happy Spring!  -Dan

04/14 Sunday

With the warmer weather and brilliant sunshine, the snow continues to leave the ski trails.  The trails still being groomed, Campground, Meadow, Upper UW, Phil’s thru Van’s, are narrowing in spots.  All are still passible as of this morning.    Be safe and have fun, Randy

04/13 Saturday

Spring has sprung!  The condition of the ski trails is in constant flux.  The only ski trails that will continue to receive grooming are Campground, Meadow, Upper UW, Phil’s thru Van’s.   Be Safe and have fun, Randy

04/12 Friday

Plenty of warm sunshine.  Spring conditions are in full effect.  The base continues to dwindle.  The Summit complex, and Lower UW have been added to the list of ski trails that will no longer be groomed this season.  Campground, Meadow, Upper UW, Phil’s thru Van’s, Ridge, Blackjack and Alder are still being groomed as of today.  The conditions are changing rapidly due to the full sun and warm weather so, be safe.   Good skiing, Randy   P.S. I have been asked multiple times when grooming will cease for the season.  Well, my crystal ball remains a little foggy but, the next 3 days are forecast to be in the 60s and not especially cold overnite.  Mother nature will decide for us and I’ll just pass along the details…   R

04/11 Thursday

About an inch of graupel since yesterday.  That was enough for the ski trails to groom out very well.  As is the case with spring conditions, It will all change by this afternoon with the full sunshine.  Continued trail narrowing and base loss.  Still, good skiing to be had.   Be safe and have fun, Randy

04/10 Wednesday

Surprise, 2” of new snow overnite.  Where there was snow yesterday, on the ski trails, they groomed out very well.  I’m sure the existing thin/bare areas, will open up again by this afternoon.   Be safe and have fun, Randy

04/09 Tuesday

More sunshine and spring conditions today.  Miners Loop, “B” Loop, Rollercoaster will not be groomed anymore this season.  Summit Loop and Lower UW have multiple areas of narrowing and may not last much longer.  As mother nature continues to bring summer forward, get out there and enjoy the last of the snow on the ski trails.    Be safe and have fun, Randy

04/08 Monday

Spring conditions are in full swing.  All ski trails, except Rollercoaster, “B”Loop, and Miners Loop, were groomed this morning.  With warmer temperatures on the way, we’ll see how the snow holds up.  I’ve been asked many times recently, about how long we’ll keep grooming for.  The answer is as long as the snow holds up, and people are still using the ski trails for skiing.  My crystal ball has been a little foggy…   Be safe and have fun, Randy

04/07 Sunday

A little new snow overnite.  The breeze caused drifting on most trails.  The breeze also caused some trees to fell.  All ski trails groomed.    Be safe and have fun, Randy

Fresh snow! Winters back for the weekend

About 1 to 3 inches of fresh snow on the trails today. The wind was ripping pretty hard up there but I think we got the snow stuck down to the trails. Everything was groomed at least once but snow is moving around up there. Rollercoaster and B-loop were really thin in spots, I would not recommend these trails. No new classic tracks until the wind calms down. Besides the wind, the parking lot was actually clear! Have a great weekend! -Dan

04/05 Friday

Lots of warm sunshine…  Spring conditions are in effect again today.  The ski trails groomed out pretty good considering how soft they are.  Rollercoaster and “B”Loop will not be groomed any further unless we get a measurable snowfall.    Be safe and have fun, Randy

04/04 Thursday

All ski trails groomed.  Absolutely constantly changing spring conditions exist.  Lots of sunshine and warm temperatures!  The base is obviously thinning and trails are narrowing as mother nature changes seasons.  Rollercoaster is getting iffy for skiing but, we’ll see what the storm this weekend brings…   Be safe and have fun, Randy

04/03 Wednesday

All ski trails groomed.  Lots of sunshine!  Constantly changing spring conditions exist.  Some trail narrowing spots.   Good skiing, Randy Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone Get Outlook for Android

0402 Tuesday

A trace of new snow.  All ski trails groomed.  Conditions were firm this morning, but warming temperatures with spring conditions exist.  Classic tracks are in fair condition.   Enjoy skiing in the warm sunshine, while things last.   Randy

04/01 Monday(April Fools)

Less than an inch of new snow overnite.  All ski trails groomed.  The warm day yesterday did us no favors as we have some bare spots on the side of the trails.  The classic tracks are a little filled in but still useable and in fair condition.   Good skiing, Randy
