Last Day of January

Warm day for January but coverage remains good on most trails. All skate lanes got a touch up today. Classic tracks are the same as they were the past couple days with some more melting. We need more Winter!! -Dan

01/30 Tuesday

All ski trails groomed.  Constantly changing spring conditions exist.  The surface was firm this morning, but as it warmed up, the sunny areas became soft and the shaded areas remained icy.  Overall coverage remains good with classic tracks conditions fair to good.  Be safe and have fun.   Good skiing, Randy

01/29 Monday

All ski trails groomed.  Spring conditions exist.  Base is very firm in the morning, then softening as the sun warms the day.  Classic tracks still in and fair to good condition.   Good skiing, Randy

01/28 Sunday

All ski trails groomed this morning.  The surface was firm to begin with, and softened with the warmup.  We are in a cycle where constantly changing, spring conditions exist.  Classic tracks are in fair to good shape.  Coverage remains good on most trails except the Summit trail complex which has multiple bare spots.   Good skiing, Randy

01/27 Saturday

All ski trails groomed today.  Coverage remains good on all except Summit.  Classic tracks are in fair to good shape.  Lots of sunshine today, get out and git ya sum.   Good skiing, Randy

01/26 Friday

About a half inch of new snow.  It doesn’t sound like much, but it did improve the skiing.  Coverage remains good on all ski trails except for Summit.  Summit has multiple open spots.  Classic tracks are in pretty good shape on Meadow, Upper UW, Phil’s thru Moose, and Ridge.    We had another power unit breakdown and had to leave a groomer on the side of Summit trail, toward the end.  It is well marked, but is on a corner.  Just letting skiers know.   Good skiing, Randy

01/25 Thursday

All ski trails groomed.  There are multiple bare spots showing up on the trails.  We tried to shovel most of those today.  There is a prediction of snow tonight, as well as tomorrow morning.  Coverage remains good.  Classic tracks are in pretty good shape except for Campground.   Good skiing, Randy

01/24 Wednesday

All ski trails groomed.  Nearly spring conditions-firm first thing in the morning and then softening up.  So far it hasn’t been hard pan or icy in the morning.  Coverage remains good with a few small dirty spots.   Good skiing, Randy

01/23 Tuesday

All ski trails groomed.  We did some shoveling just to keep the bare spots from expanding.  Coverage remains good.  Classic tracks held up well in most areas except Campground.  We had an equipment issue and were unable to reset.   We NEED cooler temps and more snow.  So, figure out what that dance looks like and give it a go!   Good Skiing, Randy

01/22 Monday

The warm weather is not helping our thin base situation at all…  All ski trails groomed today.  Classic tracks set today on part of Campground, Meadow, Upper UW, Phil’s thru Moose Loop, and Ridge.  Due to base depth concerns, tracks were not set in all areas of those trails.   Good skiing, Randy

01/21 Sunday

The hot weather yesterday did our base no favors.  All ski trails groomed today.  We were able to lay down a little corduroy and improve the trail surface.  The base is very thin in a lot of areas.  Coverage remains good.   Good skiing, Randy

01/19 Friday

A dusting of new snow since yesterday.  We broke out the groomers today and LIGHTLY went over all the ski trails.  The trails are now a little smoother and more level.  I’ve been checking base depth in a lot of the trails close to the Trail Head and we still have multiple thin areas.  Snow coverage is good, but the base is thin to very thin in areas.   Good time for the snow dance!!!   Reminder: Middle School Race is this Saturday.  The parking lot and trails will be very busy from mid-morning to mid-afternoon.   Good skiing, Randy

01/18 Thursday

We were able to lay a little corduroy on all ski trails.  The base is too thin in many areas to go full width.  The base is set up and firm.  A dusting of snow came thru as we were working.   Reminder: Middle School race this Saturday starting at noon.   Good Skiing, Randy

01/17 Wednesday

We hit all ski trails today.  We were able to lay a little corduroy and smooth the trails some.     Don’t forget, there is a middle school race this Saturday beginning at noon   Good skiing, Randy

01/16 Tuesday

All ski trails rolled multiple times.  The surface remains a little soft.  Due to the constant breeze, some minor drifting is occurring.   Good skiing, Randy

01/15 Monday

2” to 3” of new snow since yesterday.  All ski trails, except Chyt’s, Sprint, and the Summit complex, were rolled at least once.  If you go skiing, be safe.   Randy

01/14 Sunday

4” of new snow.  All ski trails rolled multiple times.  Coverage is improved as well as the base depth.    Good skiing, Randy

01/12 Friday

A trace of new snow since yesterday, some from the sky and some from the breeze.  All ski trails rolled multiple times.  We are establishing a base as almost all the dirt spots are covered with snow.  Be safe and have fun.   Good skiing, Randy

01/11 Thursday

3” of new snow this morning.  It was snowing off and on as we working.  All ski trails rolled multiple times.  We are finally beginning to establish a base for the season.  Hopefully, this storm drops a pile of snow…   Good skiing, Randy

01/08 Monday

2” to 3” of new snow since yesterday.  All ski trails rolled multiple times.  It’s a little cool on the hill today and apparently, it will be a little breezy this afternoon. So, if you go skiing, bundle up and be safe.   Good skiing, Randy
